Qualified Play Therapist, BAPT
Ruth Lazarus is a Registered BAPT Qualified Play Therapist, and is currently Chair of the Board of Directors of BAPT, she is also a BAPT Supervisor. She is currently based within CAMHS Tier 3 duty and assessment, and she also has considerable experience of Play and Filial Therapy within schools, including professional consultation work. Ruth has experience in client groups with a wide range of issues, including those who are difficult to engage, have suffered trauma and PTSD, attachment difficulties, social and communication difficulties (including Autistic Spectrum Conditions), have suffered loss and bereavement, abuse and/or neglect, as well as working with looked after children.
Ruth’s qualifications include Advanced Filial Therapy Training (2007), a Diploma in Non-Directive Play Therapy (2005), a Degree in Sociology and Social Policy (2000), an NVQ Level 3 Working with children and Young People.
Ruth mostly uses a Non-directive, child-centred approach, but also utilises Psychodynamic and Systemic approaches.
